Dear Diary,

I’m back with another Wedding Wednesday!!

This time, I thought it would be fun to ask Sean all about my engagement ring!

The amazing thing about my ring is that I didn’t help Sean at all, so I had no idea what it was going to like until it was on my finger (or really about an hour after it was on my finger because my eyes were too blurry with tears to take it all in)!

The other thing that I absolutely love about it is that Sean custom built it himself. I think this is so special!

Before getting engaged, I knew nearly NOTHING about rings and diamonds! Sean learned so much and told me all about it and his experience!

Since he taught me so much, that I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys!!

Where’s It From?

The ring is from Van Scoy Diamond Mine. Sean said that he explored a few different places, but he chose here because they allowed him to create my ring the way he really wanted to.

He knew that he wanted something different and unique for me. He wanted to create a ring with a round diamond and a square setting. Most places he tried to go told him that he couldn’t do that.

He was so happy with the service and the ring that he got out of Van Scoy. He said that they were extremely informative and guided him to understand the 4 C’s : cut, clarity, color, and carat.

The 4 C’s

The cut of my ring is round, almost the best clarity and the best coloring, hence the amazing shine that it gives off! There is a small imperfection in my diamond, which is why it isn’t considered the best clarity. You can only see the imperfection with a magnifying glass. I have never seen it, but Sean did!

My ring is a princess raised setting. This means that the diamond sits higher up from the finger. It is raised by 4 prongs that are beautifully covered by diamonds.

There are also diamonds in the square setting around the diamond and going around the band.

Any Help?

Sean didn’t have any help from any friends or family in creating or coming up with my ring, but he did get our best friend Alexa’s approval!

Alexa was a friend of both Sean and me before we started dating. We have always been blessed to have her in our lives and it makes me so happy and emotional that she was the one to give her stamp of approval!

As I said before, I truly knew nothing about rings and diamonds before this experience. I always had an idea of what I wanted (what girl doesn’t?) but this is above and beyond what I could have dreamt.

I never even knew what the 4 C’s were before this! I think it is so so special that Sean worked so hard and found out so much about the diamond to make my ring. He knew exactly what he wanted for me and he got it! I love my ring so much, but not nearly as much as I love him!

As amazing as it is to have a gorgeous ring on my finger to show that I get to marry my best friend, I think it’s important to remember that it’s not what it’s all about. This ring symbolizes our love, and even if it was a ring from a gum ball machine, I would be squealing with joy to spend the rest of my life with this guy. I am a lucky girl!

I can’t wait to continue sharing my wedding planning experience in you!
