Favorites while Quarantined

Dear Diary,

Being at home isn’t easy and though I don’t like the reasoning, I’m trying to make the best of it. I thought I would share some things that have been bringing me joy during these uncertain times!

Lifestyle

  • Peloton Bike
    • The Peloton Bike was the best birthday gift from my hubby!! And don’t worry, I’ve been asking for one for years so it wasn’t an insulting gift haha! I know it’s an investment, but it was one so worth it for our lifestyle, and the payment plan is incredible! I was really missing spin classes during this time, and now I don’t even need that gym membership anymore! It’s also just an incredible and healthy way to relieve stress.
  • Alani Nu Pre-Workout
    • I know that pre-workout isn’t for everyone, but this is by far the best one I’ve tried! I don’t use it for every workout, but when I need that extra kick, this does the job! The flavors are great awesome! My favorites are Mimosa, Arctic White, and Hawiian Shaved Ice!
  • Journals
    • Journaling has helped my mental health immensely during this time. I feel so much better when I get thoughts out of my head and onto paper. I’ve been loving just free writing, but here are some of my favorite guided journals!
  • Books
    • I’ve also been really enjoying reading! I used to be such a reader but life just started to get in the way. With this extra time, it’s been so nice to sit outside and get lost in a good book. My favorite I read so far during quarantine is Where the Crawdads Sing.
  • Yeti
    • This is a new obsession of mine, but I’m totally hooked. I want every tumbler I can possibly get my hands on! This obsession is all thanks to my best friend who was telling me how much she loved hers. Since then (like a month ago), I’ve gotten a custom 18 oz Rambler, a custom 14 oz Rambler Mug for Sean, and my best friend sent me the 10 oz Rambler Lowball for my birthday! You wouldn’t believe how many more are currently in my cart…maybe even a cooler.
  • Bike Shorts
  • Candles
    • This shouldn’t be too shocking…I don’t even have a specific candle to tell you about, I just can’t stop lighting candles while I’m at home! I did, though, find the coolest Rehargeable Electric Candle Lighter and this Candle Wick Trimmer that are also current favorites!

Food/Drink

  • Smoothie bowls
    • I’ve been loving making a yummy smoothie bowl for breakfast or even as a nighttime treat! It’s super yummy and also helps me get in enough protein since I’m not eating meat! Here’s my favorite current recipe:
      • 1/2 cup of almond milk
      • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
      • 1/2 a frozen banana
      • A TBSP of peanut butter
      • A scoop of vanilla protein
      • A scoop of powdered greens
      • Top with cocoa granola, honey, nuts, fresh fruit, cool whip, or anything else that makes you feel special!
  • SmartSweets
    • If you have a constant sweet tooth like I do, you NEED to try these. My favorites are the Sweet Fish and Peach Rings! SmartSweets are gummy candies that are naturally sweetened, no sugar, alcohol, or artificial sweeteners added. They are plant-based, filled with fiber, and each bag only has 3 grams of sugar.
  • Juicing
    • While quarantined, I’ve totally fallen in love with juicing! It’s such a great way to get more fruits, veggies, and nutrients in my diet. I started by just using a blender and cheesecloth, but after a few weeks of doing this every morning, I decided to invest in a juicer. Here is the one I purchased from Target! It’s affordable, strong, and pretty easy to clean (all pieces can go in the dishwasher)!
  • LimonCello LaCroix
    • I absolutely love sparkling water. It helps me curb my soda cravings and makes it feel like summer! This new LimonCello LaCroix flavor is my new obsession (it taste delicious with a little vodka or tequila, too)!
  • French Pressed Cold Brew Coffee
    • I’m totally missing Starbucks, so I’ve been making cold brew at home. I never knew until my BFF told me, but you can make cold brew in a french press! Just put in a few scoops of your favorite coffee grounds, fill the french press with water, mix it up, and let it sit on the counter overnight. When you wake up the next morning, press the coffee, fill your cup with ice, and enjoy! I put the rest of it in a mason jar in the fridge until I drink it all up! It’s seriously my new obsession. I’ve been loving to make it with this Toasted Hazelnut Coffee from Target.
  • Calm Natural Anti-Stress Drink
    • I’ve been drinking this for years, but I’ve noticed myself reaching for it a little more often lately. If you haven’t heard of Calm, it’s a natural magnesium supplment powder. Magnesium is known to relieve stress and this definitely does the trick for me! I get pretty anxious at night, so when I start to feel myself unraveling, I fill a mug with water and mix in some calm. I sip it while I get myself into bed and it always makes me feel more at ease.
  • Thrive Market
    • I get a lot of my healthy food and snacks from Thrive Market! This is an online grocery service offering healthy, natural, food products. You can order healthy snacks, pantry staples, meat, fish, cleaning supplies, and even wine! You can also search by your diet on the website if you’re vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. and the prices are a fraction of what you would pay in retail grocery stores. Did I mention they deliver right to your door? You can’t beat that right now! This isn’t sponsored, I just truly love this company! If you use my link here, you can’t get 25% off your first order!

Beauty

  • Skincare Fridge
    • I know this isn’t a necessity, believe me, but it’s just so darn cute! As an esthetician, I’m always trying new products. It’s nice to keep natural products or anything that might go bad quickly in the fridge. I also have to admit just how luxurious it feels to put cold products or jade rollers on your face! Here is one similar to mine!
  • Reusable Cotton Rounds
    • I ordered these Reusable Cotton Rounds on Amazon and I LOVE them! I use cotton rounds every single day when I tone my skin, and it seemed like such a waste. These come in a pack of 16 with a little mesh bag that you can wash them in.
  • Nails
    • I’ve always loved my Kiss Press on nails, but they’ve especially been a lifesaver while quarantined! Here are some of my favorites!
    • I also have been obsessed with these Olive & June nail stickers! I either do them on my real nails or the press ons! The stars are my favorite.
  • Jaw hair clips
    • I love that these are back in style! It’s been so easy to just throw my hair in a cute jaw clip while I’m working around the house!

That’s it for my current favorites! Some of them are random, but it’s the little things that are bringing me the most joy during its time.

I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my not-so-secret diary!

xx,

Beth
