I have a (not-so) guilty pleasure of watching morning and night routines on Youtube! Since I love watching them so much, I thought it would be fun to write mine for you all to read!
I’m not perfect, and I definitely don’t follow this every single day, but I do try my best!
I think that routine is really important. It keeps us consistent and helps to form healthy habits. The smallest thing like starting the day by making your bed can really make a difference in your day!
Without further ado, here is my morning routine!
I really prefer to go to the gym or work out first thing in the morning. If I do, I get right out of bed, stretch, chug some water, brush my teeth, head to the gym, and then complete everything else when I get back.
But life happens, and that isn’t always the case! So if I wake up too late for the gym, I save it for later and this is what my morning looks like:
When I first wake up, I chug a glass of water and try to get my blood flowing as soon as possible. I usually do a few stretches in bed until I gain the strength to get up. Once I get up, I continue doing a few yoga stretches and sometimes do a few quick ab workouts or squats!
After that, I ALWAYS make my bed. Like I mentioned before, I think it is one of the most important things to do in your day. If you can make your bed when you’re totally exhausted and really don’t want to move, then you will feel accomplished and like you can do anything throughout your day! Also, it feels so amazing to come home to a clean bedroom!
The next thing I do is head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face!
Sean and I use the most amazing tooth brushes! Before I go on a rant, I have to say that this is NOT an ad (wish it was), I just love this toothbrush that much!!
With that said, if you dread brushing your teeth, you will love Quip! It has the softest bristles and vibrates for the perfect brush. It also is timed for 30 seconds to spend on each section of your mouth! It comes in this awesome, portable holder that suctions to any mirror and doesn’t take up any counter space. And my favorite part, is that every 3 months, they send you a new brush head!
The set also came with this face mask! I don’t use it every morning, but when my skin needs an extra lift, sometimes I put it on before heading downstairs to eat!
Once I am all clean, I head downstairs to start my breakfast.
Everyday before I eat, I drink Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water! There are SO many benefits to doing this.
Here are a few:
- Helps with my acid reflux
- Boosts energy levels
- Cleans skin
- Improves stomach issues
- Balances sugar levels
- Makes your breath smell better
- Detoxes the body
- Boosts immune system
At this time, I also take my vitamins and make coffee and breakfast.
While I eat and sip my coffee, I like to reflect on the day to come. I feel that this is the best time of the day because I’m still not fully awake so it all flows out naturally without thinking too much.
I get a daily bible verse everyday at 6 AM from an app called Daily Bible Inspirations. After I read that, I reflect in my journal/book called A Cup of Faith. The book has daily questions to help you guide your devotions. This helps me start my day fresh and only takes about 5 minutes!
Even if you aren’t religious, I think it’s nice to take some time out of the day to reflect on what you are thankful for in life. We are all so caught up in the negativity of the world that sometimes we forget to stop and realize how amazing our lives are and that someone always has it worse.
Next, I write in my bullet journal! I usually review what I have to do throughout the day and jot down anything else I might have forgotten the night before.
After I reflect for the day, I head back upstairs to do my hair and makeup and get dressed for the day!
After that, I grab my lunch and head out the door!
