WEDDING WEDNESDAY 2 : Why I’m Loving Wedding Planning

Dear Diary,

Unpopular opinion…I am LOVING wedding planning (so far)!

Though I am still in the early stages, we have completed so much and I have loved every step!

Like most, I have been dreaming of my wedding since I was a little girl. Though I have had a vision in mind most of my life, now that I am engaged, it all has changed, but I couldn’t be happier with the way it is turning out!

My fiancé and I have the same vision when it comes to our wedding. This has made it amazingly easy so far. Though most men don’t really have a care or opinion, Sean is interested and ready to help in anyway he can (even though I definitely have taken the lead)! 😉

We have only been engaged for a little over 2 months, but the planning took right off. Since I am a teacher, we really wanted to be sure the wedding was in the summer. That meant we had to get the ball rollin’ so that could happen!

What We Have So Far:

1. Date

2. Church/Venue

3. Budget

4. Colors/theme

5. Tentative guest list

6. Wedding party decided

7. Photographer

And most importantly….

8. THE DRESS!

What We Are in the Process Of Deciding:

1. Band

2. Florist

Tips To Make Planning Enjoyable:

Planning can definitely be overwhelming and stressful, but you have to keep some things in mind to make it enjoyable, which it so can be!

1. Communicate

If you don’t communicate with your significant other, your families and vendors, you will get confused, lose the vision and not know what needs to get done!

2. Set a Budget

As we all know…weddings are not cheap. Setting a budget will help you decide where to put your money.

3. Focus On What is Important to You

Don’t want a cake? DON’T HAVE ONE!

Put your money into things that are meaningful to you and your significant other. You don’t have to stick to every tradition. Make it your own!

4. Make a Time-Line

Make a time-line of things that should be done by a set date. This way, you know exactly when you need to have things completed by. This keeps you super organized!

5. Remember it is Your Day

Everyone will have an opinion. Remember that it is your day and not theirs!

Their opinion doesn’t matter! You need to stick to what you want or it won’t feel like your wedding.

6. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask For Help

As much as you might want to, you can’t do this on your own. Don’t think you have to! Ask for help. Get advice. You’ll be surprised how many people actually want to help.

7. Don’t Stress!

It will all come together. Don’t stress yourself out because that is when things start to go wrong! Enjoy the planning. You only have one chance (hopefully) to do it!

8. Treat Yourself

When you complete a task, celebrate with your significant other! You deserve to be rewarded for all of your hard work.

I can’t wait to continue to share my wedding planning experience with you!
